ABOUT US
At Alternative Onsite Solutions, we’ve been providing creative solutions and raising the standards for residential and commercial septic systems since 2005.
We are proud to have designed and installed the first residential alternative septic system in Northern Utah. Our team has extensive experience in every facet of septic system design, installation, and maintenance, and we’re familiar working with the health departments of Wasatch, Summit, Salt Lake, Utah, Tooele, Morgan, and Weber counties.

Why Choose AOS?
-
Education & Experience: Our team has a combined 75+ years of experience in the field of septic systems and we're accredited with the National Environmental Health Association in advanced wastewater treatment. President Ben Witt graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in Environmental Health, is Level 3 Certified in Wastewater Design, and is a licensed S-390 Treatment System contractor.

-
Advanced Septic System Expertise: We currently have hundreds of septic systems in the ground that have been treating and cleaning wastewater for two decades. When you trust AOS with your septic system installation, you can rest assured that the job will be done right. We’ve successfully managed projects of varying scale, from cabins and residential properties to schools and even National Parks.

-
Permits & Approval: We specialize in getting even the most challenging properties approved. We have done several projects for sites with limited space, bedrock, shallow water table, close proximity to open water, river bank lots, steep slopes, expanding clays, soft sands, and every other potential problem in between. Through working closely with local health departments, we have found solutions for some of the most difficult properties in the state.

-
Quality: AOS-installed septic systems are always installed to the highest standard. Each system we install is custom built with a pre-manufactured water-tight lid and seamless risers brought to the surface. Additionally, we put access risers over distribution boxes and all valve boxes. This ensures continued access to all the critical components of your system without unnecessary digging.

-
Familiarity with State & County Codes: As active participants in rule revisions committees in Summit, Wasatch, Salt Lake, and Utah counties, as well as at the state level, we know firsthand that State and County codes are constantly changing. We're actively involved in any proposed changes and are deeply familiar with the intricacies of county and state-level rules.

-
Specialization: By specializing only in septic systems, we see hundreds of systems every year and have a profound understanding of the inner workings of all types of systems, from design to installation and maintenance. We see the bigger picture of how these systems perform across different terrains and seasons throughout Wasatch, Summit, Salt Lake, Utah, Tooele, Morgan, and Weber counties, and see the systems’ performance anywhere from five to 30+ years after they’re installed.

-
Maintenance: With years of experience maintaining and inspecting septic systems anywhere from 10-50 years old, we understand their inner workings extensively. Each septic system we install is designed for longevity so that it can be maintained for decades to come, not just replaced. We have experts on staff dedicated solely to maintaining these systems as issues arise.
